transaction not shown in my PayPal account

I was expecting a payment on my PayPal account and I eventually got an email from PayPal regarding unclaimed payment , when I logged into my PayPal account to manually accept the payment, there was nothing in my PayPal account neither in my bank account which I linked , no transaction history is shown please help.
