#pendingtransaction

So I am hoping someone can help me. I recently stayed at a hotel/casino for free but was required to provide a $50 security deposit on a card so I used my PayPal Debit MasterCard. This was more than a week ago so I was wondering why I haven't received my security deposit back. I call the hotel and inquired about my deposit and was informed that it was returned. Have yet to have it returned and on my transaction history it shows as pending. Am I being impatient? Or is a normal amount of time? I have used an other debit card at this same location and it would take 2 days. Hopefully someone has had this problem before and got it resolved and can give me some advice. Thank you for your time.

Pending refunds can only happen for two reasons.

1. The seller has issued a refund from their bank account which takes time to process.

2. You funded the payment to the seller using bank transfer. What PayPal do here is credit the recipient on your behalf (so there is no delay in despatching your item). Then if you receive a refund in the meantime they are unable to issue this until the original bank transfer completes.
