Hi
I just set up a personal Paypal account and as a test my dad sent me a payment to make sure it worked.
However I received less than was sent.
Only sent £1.00 to make sure it worked but I only received £0.67
I thought this was a free service? If anyone out there could help before he sends a large amount - as I don't want to be charged etc.
Any help appreciated

Its down to how the payment was SENT to an account.
1. If sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see the recipient as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge a fee.
2. If sent using the send money > family / friends option then the recipient would have the payment instantly (as long as it wasn't an echeque pending with a clearance date) with no fee. (However that option is not available in every country).
HOWEVER IF YOU ARE SELLING GOODS OR SERVICES THEN YOU ALWAYS PAY A FEE AS ITS AGAINST PAYPAL RULES TO USE OPTION 2 FOR SELLING.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
