Recurring payments

I'm planning to set up a recurring payment under paypal with a credit card I have linked there. If at some point I do not update the expiration date on the credit card and the recurring payment cannot be made, will paypal automatically pay the recurring payment with a bank checking account I also have linked to this personal paypal account?

Thank you for reaching out to PayPal. 

Regatding your question about recurring payments, once it is set up, the funding source you've indicated in the beginning of the subscription should be the only funding source used for the whole the duration of the agreement. To be able to update information on the recurring payment profile through PayPal, please refer to this Help Center article:

Thanks for the response. After reading the article, I see also, that if you have a paypal balance, that will be used first. My concern is this: if I want to cancel a subscription, and I have been using a credit card I have linked in paypal for the payments before cancelling, I want that to be the only form of payment so that when I cancel, it isn't paid another way. I don't want paypal to use my bank account, which is linked, or another credit card that is linked, if any, or my paypal balance, if any, if the credit card does not work for whatever reason, like past the expiration date. When I cancel a subscription, I want to be able to stop it, and not have paypal use another source to pay it.

Thank you for your response. 

Based on experience, once you've cancelled a subscription through your PayPal account, there should not be any attempts to process any payment on any of your linked cards and/or bank accounts, nor your PayPal balance since the subscription is already cancelled. Rest assured that all billing agreements and recurring payments that are cancelled through yout PayPal account are final and no charges should go through anymore from any of your funding sources.
