Money sent to friend who’s debit card was inactive

Hello

i just sent money from PayPal to my friend I did not know that his debit card was cancelled 6 months ago.  In fact I thought I was sending it to the checking account linked to it but I can’t tell because the PayPal platform doesn’t allow you to see what account it was actually sent to when the recipient is saved in the system

If you send a payment then it goes to the receivers paypal balance OR they can choose to send it to a linked bank account.
