Digital river is an ecommerce payment company. They partner with companies like Samsung, Microsoft, razr, McAfee, avast, etc. If you buy from those websites, your charge may show up as from digital river. They also handle subscriptions. A lot of times what happens is people accept a free trial for a product, like anti virus, and forget to cancel and it auto renews. Be careful what you are accepting. Digital river just handles the orders and payments submitted by partner companies.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Cheers for the reply. I've done a bit of 'digging' into my Paypal account and have found that the payment is for Avast Virus BUT I have the free edition on my PC for quite a few years so there is no way that I have knowingly signed up to a yearly subscription so, for now I have now cancelled any future payments by Paypal and will also be doing the same via my banking debit card. When I checked my Paypal account I found that Digital River Ireland Ltd/Avast had started taking subscriptions back in 2018 and have since taken over £260 in payments over the period Sept 2018 to date! Every time I run a security/virus check on my machine there are always pop-ups from Avast advising me to increase my security as I am only on the free version!!! What does that tell ya!
Mike
