Permanently disabled, need to close account.

I've been a dedicated member with Paypal for years now. However, now I'm permanently disabled and cannot keep a job for more than 1 year due to complications with my Disease, I am constantly struggling to make payments on my credit card and can no longer keep up. I am often out of work for over a month just trying to keep my Crohn's Disease in remission. I was always able to make ends meet and pay the minimum payment, if not more; but have not been so fortunate lately. I need a solution, perhaps closing my account, but I would like to know if I have other options, such as setting up a payment plan, and things of that sort. I don't want to be redirected from department to department when I call. I need the best solution that will preserve what ever credit I have remaining, granted it is probably very little at this point.

I know what you are going through with regards to Paypal. I recently called them up and got my card cancelled

because of fraud but they sent me a new card and transferred the balance from my closed account to the new

one. I didn't mind because at least I know my true balance now($350.00).

I plan on paying it off next month and not using my new PayPal credit card not even once, hopefully they

will close it for me in about a year due to "non sctivity." I recently checked my credit report and it listed

closed by client due to loss/theft, don't need or want to have that done a second time.

So if I were you call them up, request to close the account and ask them for your balance. Unfortunately there

is only 1 way to find your balance and that is by calling. But I believe you are going to have to pay it off over

the phone, otherwise they might send you a new credit card which is what you don't need or want to do.
