Email Notification when using Debit Card?

I don't receive an email notification when I use my Paypal debit card.

If I login to my paypal account, I can click on Profile, then on More Options.  In that section, I click "Notifications" on the left side, under "Account Information"

In the "Payment Notifications" section, I have all 4 options checked, including the option, "I make a purchase with my PayPal ATM/Debit Card", which is checked.

I receive email notifications when I add money from my bank account, but when I use my Paypal debit card, I do not receive an email notification.

Very puzzling.  I would very much like to receive the email notifications.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

It is very strange that you'd get one type of email from Paypal but not another. Are you using any spam filtering on your the web host (real-time block list RBL), or junk filtering on your email program? Personally, whenever I use Gmail with eBay or Paypal, there are so many false positives, I had to turn off junk filtering. I'm guessing maybe this is a possible situation for you?

Yeah, I had hoped it was something like that too, but I am currently using my own email domain, and I have no junk filtering at all, so I can see all emails coming in, junk or not.

ETA:  I should say that the email address I use with my paypal account is not a true email account, it is an email forwarder.  It automatically forwards all email into my real email account.  I doubt this is the problem, otherwise I would receive no emails from Paypal at all.  But, it is only the debit card notification emails that I do not receive.

Whether you are using Gmail or any other email forwarder, that introduces additional complexity which makes troubleshooting harder and can introduce email issues on occassion. A simple test to eliminate the email forwarder is to add your actual e-mail address, make it primary, then run a charge on your Paypal Debit Card. If you consistently receive email notifications for your Debit Card, your email forwarder may the reason. You could actually inquire with them now to see if any e-mail is held up, filtered, or rejected on your account.

Another suggestin is to uncheck the box under Notifications to receive e-mails, click Save, then check the box, and Save again. Its not very likely, but in case there was a data glitch on the Paypal servers, this must reset the notification to come back online.

Thanks,

That's a good idea, I'll give that a try.  This morning I changed my primary email address to be an email address that is not a forwarder.  I received 2 email notices on the old email address (the forwarder email) from Paypal stating that my email address had changed and that a new email address was set as the primary email.

It really seems to me that if paypal can send emails to that address (indicating that my address has changed) then it should work fine for debit card purchases too.

In any case, I'll use the debit card today and see if an email shows up on the new email address.

I have tried unchecking the notification before and saving, then re-checking.  That's a good idea too.  I'll try it again if this doesn't work.

Thanks.

It didn't work.  I used a different email address, used the debit card, and no email was sent.  I was, however, sent an email at my regular email address (from paypal) alerting me that my primary email address had changed.

I reset the primary email address to be my regular email address.  I deleted the new email address from my account.  I unchecked the options to send notifications, I saved it, then I re-checked the option to send me notifications when my debit card is used, and saved it again.

Maybe it will work now, but I doubt it.  It seems like a lot of hassle to do something very simple.  Paypal tech support is not helping me.
