New fist page is distracting

This may be picky, but I find the opening page video creepy and distracting. Today it was hard to type in my password with part of a man walking across my screen. A nice attractive screen without animation, video action, or motion of any kind would be much preferred. Woman Indifferent

Sorry, "first page", not "fist page"!

Funny.  CREEPY was also the word I used in my feedback to PayPal.

Felt like I was a peeping tom.

I spent a while looking for a 'feedback' place on the website about the new design, to no avail.  My primary problem is that on both my laptops (Windows XP with Google Chrome browser and MacBookPro with Google Chrome browser), whatever the blue button is after username / password is cut off when I go to paypal.com - main page.  No scroll bar to even SEE what it says and barely more than 30 pixels of space to click it so I can get into my account.

Did the web developers bother to test the new design on all popular browsers?

Honestly, the big video that takes up all the space gives me a headache.  I'm not there to watch a video -- wasted on me -- I'm there to login and do business.

I actually sniffed out the community forums so I could share how much I love the new video-background on the PayPal welcome page! Of course, the dynamic of it is not for everyone, but I appreciate the beauty, subtlety, simplicity, and candidness of the presentation.

The featured individuals are probably hired models/actors, but the filming gives a strong impression the images are natural and improvised. Also, the actions and settings the filmmakers chose to portray are commercial enough to represent the situations I, as an online consumer, may typically experience, yet personal enough that the filming actually adds dimension to the portrayal of the online shopping experience.

In any case, I enjoyed the visuals! They seem real-time and slightly voyeuristic -- but I really like that!

Well done, PayPal!

My gripe with the new first page has to do with functionality.  It does not allow me to split my screen vertically with another window and still be able to login to Paypal.  Therefore it requires extra clicks to maximize the Paypal screen just so I can log in, then minimize it again to work with the other half of my screen.

I really don't like the new site. It looked much more professional before. Now it just seems like PayPal is trying to make their site look like a social media site.

I SELDOM complain, especially about PayPal, but I totally agree with the prior posts and comments.  I find the animation VERY distracting, and have had to correct myself more than a few times.  Still photos would be great, just not movement while I am trying to sign in would be much more appreciated.  Or allow us the option of cutting it off : )  I am on PayPal at least 3-5 times per day, and now DREAD having to come in.

And I am in total agreement -- the quickly changing/ flashing images are so distracting, I cringe at having to come into PayPal, and I am in here a minimum of 3 times daily, and sometimes as many as 5!  This format may be "edgy" to the people who designed and developed, but it is not a preferred mode for your REGULAR/DAILY users.   This perhaps is intended for your "sales" but for your return customers, it is a detrement.

I totally agree!! No only can I not log in easily, when I do it displays this new cartoonish screen that's very distracting. I wish there was a way I could just log in to the "classic" overview page without having to reset it everytime. Also missing is the click here button if you don't log in within 5 seconds. What a pain. Find something else for the kids that keep redesigning this site to do and keep them away from a keyboard!!
