Is it true that PayPal data can only work correctly in a Windows environment? I have a Mac. As the new treasurer of my nonprofit writers group, I bought iBank to issue reports to the board members. iBank's support team migrated the previous data from our bank and PayPal to iBank. The historical data from Bank of America was complete -- the categories that had been assigned by the previous treasurer were intact. It was equally easy to add the more recent transactions and their categories and memos. However, that was NOT true of the data from PayPal. None of the historical categories or memos were there. Instead, the category field read "split" and the memo field was all grayed-out letters and numbers -- all the way back to the time we first started using PayPal. The same thing happened when I tried to bring in more recent PayPal data into iBank. This is a big problem because we bring almost all of our money through PayPal -- memberships, seminar addmissions, special event tickets, etc. Without the categories or memos, I can't do proper reports. I finally got through to a support agent at PayPal who asked IT about this. She reported that PayPal IT stopped trying to make data work for Apple products two years ago. If I understood her correctly, I have to create a Windows environment on my Mac and buy Windows and Quicken. This what the former treasurer did more or less by accident. Neither of us realized we couldn't use PayPal UNLESS we did it. There is a very arduous work-around, but the PayPal data still needs to be entered manually. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? What have you done?
