I HAVE CANCELLED A BOOKING FOR AN APARTMENT FEB 9TH TO FEB 25TH IN SARASOTA FLORIDA AS I FOUND THE PROPERTY IS UP FOR SALE.  WE HAVE A $545 DEPOSIT WHICH WAS PAID 12TH JUNE.  THE VENDOR DENIES THE PROPERTY IS FOR SALE . I CANNOT FIND THE PROPERTY ON THE RENTAL WEBSITE ANY MORE. THE PROPERTY OWNER HAS NOT REFUNDED MY DEPOSIT.  WHAT CAN I DO?  I THOUGHT I WOULD BE PROTECTED BY PAYPAL.

Paypal does not cover you for "services" as per buyer protection you are only covered for physical goods sent in the post.

You have pulled out of renting the apartment so surely you lose the deposit????

The fact the apartment is up for sale should not be a problem as a lot of sellers sell it on to another landlord who honours the bookings.
