Hi. I am getting desperate. I have been with PayPal for many years and have recently become a widow, consequently I have had to remain in Zimbabwe where he passed away. All has been fine with PayPal, my only source of money, until I changed my mobile number as I had to get a Zimbabwean sim. Now I can’t login. I received “Sorry we cannot verify it’s you”. I understand security issues are of utmost importance but need urgent assistance. I can’t phone from Zimbabwe. I have made that clear to the gentleman I was talking to on FB messenger. I have tried emptying cache and browsing history etc. I have tried to use a different device. HELP PLEASE

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

However..........

The option to receive paypal payments is sadly not available in

  • Zimbabwe

You can only send payments for purchases funded by your (confirmed) credit card.

Paypal varies a lot country to country and can only offer the services that the banks / governments of that country allow it to offer.
There are quite a few countries unable to receive paypal payments.

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones when available (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thank you. I have tried to call the UK call centre on (+44[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]four times this afternoon. Every time I get to the prompt question “Have you changed your password?” and I answer “Yes” the phone line cuts off. It is costing me a lot of money to get nowhere. Please please help.
