Many failed atempts by Paypal to fix a veryfication problem.

I have just spent the last 3 hours trying to sort out a versification problem where the call to my number for the verification code is not getting through.

Each time i phoned Paypal they did something and said they had fixed it and i should try again, i went thought this cycle of trying again and the problem not having been fixed i phoned again, for them to do something else and then me trying again, and again and again.... so many times the system has now locked me out for 24 hours, now they say there is nothing they can do about it and that i should try again in 24 hours.

 

Which i will, and go through the same motions again for another 3 hours to get locked out again at the end of that day if they don't fix the problem.

Why is this so difficult? Its almost as if at this point they are just going through the motions hoping i'll go away, i can't, i need access to my funds so i can pay bills or i'll end up with late payment charges.

 

Please actually fix the problem, that money, my money is sitting in your accounts and i can't get at it because you can't fix your broken system.

i have been fighting a battle with them for over two weeks.  i have been trying to get past adding my phone number to quick securty check only for it to tell me every time that my phone number is invalid. they tell me to wait 24-72 hours and still no fix. i have money that i cant access because of this issue. they can't override the system. well what can  they do then???

Is it a phone issued in your country?

Is it a mobile phone and not a landline which you can no longer use for i.d. purposes?

Is it registered in your name?

Have you confirmed it on your paypal account?

 

If still issues then........

 

Try:

1. Downloading the app to see if it will let you in to change / update it in the settings.

2. Use the forgotten password option several times.

3. Trying another browser that may let you in without phone verification (then change it when you have logged in).

4. Trying again another day when sometimes you can get in without doing the verification and then change the number.

5. Changing the password a few times sometimes works as it can bypass the phone verification.

If that does not work then you would need to contact customer services so that they can i.d. you another way and then add your new phone number to your account.

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.

4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

Its not going to get any better, i spent a total of 4 or 5 hours on the phone with them, we did everything kernowlass posted below, after which point they just said there is nothing we can do and sat in silence clearly wanting me off the phone. WITH MY MONEY STILL SITTING IN THEIR INACCESSIBLE SYSTEM.

I very much got the feeling of "just go way pleb, you're a nuisance now" I didn't, so they came up with another idea, they said I should tell the person who paid me to dispute the payment and claim it back to pay me another way.

Despite this obvious passing the problem back to me that's the only way i will get my money back, because they have made it pretty clear they are quite happy to keep it if i don't.

Shocking, they have the power and your money and that's it. I still don't have my money.

I'm going to take a short break from PayPal, then i'm going to put in an official complaint, get the transcripts from my phone-calls with them and the write to every reglatory body i can find about their shocking behaviour.
