How do I edit the list of addresses that are available when I make purchases with PayPal?

When I buy something with PayPal, the dropdown list of addresses is ridiculous! There's dozens, often variations on punctuation or years old or friends' addresses, etc. I can't find a way in settings or account to edit that list of addresses, but I assume I'm just looking in the wrong place. Can anyone help me find it?

Thank you in advance!

Hey @Cassolotl,

Great question - you can remove old addresses using the steps listed here. If they don't show in the list there, they're probably what we call guest addresses, which are added to the account by third party merchants when you use a different address than what we have listed for checkouts. In these situations, the only way to have the guest addresses removed is to contact us by phone, Facebook, or Twitter so that we can help. Thanks!

I went to the guide that you mentioned, here: https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/how-do-i-add,-change,-or-remove-a-street-address-faq1113

The instructions start out like:

  1. Click the Settings icon next to "Log out.
  2. Click Manage all addresses in the "Address" section.

But when I click the Settings icon this happens:

There is no "manage all addresses" item in the menu. Are you able to get the guide updated, at all?

Thank you!

Hi @Cassolotl,

Oh no! Did you click on "Your Profile" to view your profile details? It should be listed there under "Address." Let us know here if that doesn't work!

Oh, that step wasn't in the guide. Okay, so I clicked on My Profile and got to https://www.paypal.com/businessmanage/profile/loginSecurity and there is no "Manage all addresses" or anything resembling a postal address option. It only has:

  • Email address
  • Phone
  • Password
  • Security questions
  • 2-step verification
  • Stay logged in for faster purchases
  • Account type [Business]

There is another section called "Personal Details" on the left (it's only that and "Login and security" in the menu on the left), and that has:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone
  • Customer service ID

So nothing in any of that relating to postal addresses. I think your guide is just out of date? Any ideas?

Hi @Cassolotl,

Thanks for letting us know - I've already put in a request to get the page updated to ensure the instructions are correct. The issue here is that different countries have different options in the profile. I think the easiest resolution to this issue in the meantime will be to contact us by phone, Facebook, or Twitter so that we can ensure all the extra addresses are removed from the profile. We'll just need to quickly verify your information, then we can have everything resolved.

Argh, okay! Is there not a way to email PayPal directly about this? I can't call for disability reasons, and I don't have Facebook or Twitter...!

@Cassolotl,

I'm so sorry to hear that. If you open the link I attached to the word "phone" in my previous post, it has both a phone and email contact listed. You should be able to reach out to us via email from there!
