I am trying to link my PayPal to Google Pay, however the setup does not work. I have tried following the guide on in the FAQ (i.e. more or less just pressing the Google Play menu entry in the app). However, each time I try to do this, I simply get the ominous error message "A problem has occurred" (paraphrased, as my app is set to German). This happens every time.
Also, It is not possible to go the reverse way and use the Google Pay app to establish the link (I get a similarly ominous and information-less error message).
I am on Android using a Moto G5 Plus.
