Authentication required but I have a new telephone number

When I tried to log into my paypal account I received a message that additional authentication was required. This requires Paypal to contact me at the phone number I supplied when I first joined up. But I've got a new phone since then and I can no longer be contacted at that number. I've tried to contact them by telephone but I can't get through. I'm now locked out of my account. Can anyone help?
