Accidental Account close

Hi Community,

I hope somebody can help me.

I accidentally close my wife's Paypal account and I want to get it back as it was. Prolem is that I cannot log anymore with my wife's account and I cannot find any contact e-mail or any process to revert it. Actually it was super easy to close the account, too easy!

Hi @Albertmik_83 Thank you for communicating with us. I understand that it was an accident that you closed your wife's account however, once you close a Paypal account it cannot be reopened. You can create a new Paypal account with the same email address used to the account that's closed but it won't include your previous transaction history. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Then should I simply create a new account with same email? Problem will be with all current transactions and subscriptions I have ongoing. Will be stay active or I need to resubmit all of them? same for the cards and bank accounts what will happen with them?

 

Is it really not possible that you reactivate an account as it was before?

Hey there, @Albertmik_83,

 

I'm afraid that all the banks, cards, and even the transactions have already been deleted from the closed account upon closing it, thus, you really will be starting from scratch once you have re-created a Paypal account using your wife's email. 

 

Furthermore, once you have re-created a new Paypal account from your wife's email, you will have to add/link the banks and cards that you will be using for payments of your PayPal account.

 

Lastly, you will have to re-signup your previous subscriptions from the closed account, since all of them have been closed or deleted, upon closing your wife's PayPal account.
