A donor wants to make monthly donations to our school. They do not have a PayPal account. Is it possible for us to set this up?

Hello DevonPrep,

Welcome to the Community Smiley Happy.

There are a couple ways you can collect donations from a donor. One option is to create a donate button to put on your website, however this is not a recurring option - they would have to go to your website each time they donate (this option does not require the donor to have a PayPal account).

Another option is to accept Recurring Payments Advanced option for 19.99 a month.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for the information. We are a very small school with a very small volume of donations via PayPal. Is there another solution? We cannot justify the $19.99 cost per month.

Hello DevonPrep,

Really the only other option available with PayPal is the subscription button. This button can be created in your PayPal account. However the button will read "Subscribe" - you may want to create your own button to read Donate rather than "subscribe" and upload the image to a server.

Please Note: There is an option to use your own button image in step one when creating the button.

I hope this makes sense.

Note: They will have to have a PayPal account in order to use the 'subscription' service.

Thank you. We (not me--our webmaster) finally figured it out, and have it up and running. I don't know how our donors will feel about having to have a PayPal account, but we will soon know. I tested it with my own subscription and it looks like it will meet our needs--changing the button to something more understandable than "subscriptions" should help. Thanks for the help.
