I am a ZenCart user and have paypal express setup as my payment module. If a customer makes a purchase with a paypal account everything goes smoothly, however if they try to put in their credit/debit card without setting up an account it fails every time. I have tried 7 of my personal credit cards and they have all failed. I have also have several (around 10) customers that have had this problem. From what I can tell all users that were able to complete a purchase were users with a paypal account. I have tried paypal express and standard and both have the same problem. I saw somewhere that there is an option to accept payment from non paypal users, but I couldn't find that anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am losing orders all the time by this not working properly.

I am reading your problem from November 6 today on November 23 and you have no responses? How does anyone get answers here? I see many many questions, but no answers. What gives?
How do you get an answer?
Where?

I'm having the same problem! I've wasted the better part of a day searching for a resolution to my problem and cannot find a way to get support or answers.
My customers are getting a Payment Processing Error Code 1: 10002
Short Message 1 Authentication/Authorization Failed
Long Message 1: You do not have permissions to make this API call
Folks, we're all trying to run businesses here. Why can't we get any support from PayPal?

Hello. I am not an expert at all but might have a direction you can look into. Express Checkout is for PayPal payments only. They have a separate API, PayFlow Pro, which authorizes credit card transactions. I think they use the term 'direct pay' for this payment type. Both Express Checkout and PayFlow Pro need to be added to your checkout.
We are just adding PayPal now ourselves. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Yes, after EXTREMELY LONG AND UNNECESSARY delays listening to endless automated options and recordings I finally got to speak to a REAL Person, Virgil, who solved my problem immediately.
Turns out that PayPal Payments Pro requires a special API signature in order to process credit cards. Virgil walked me through the set-up in my ShopSite Shopping Cart and now everything works like a charm.
I only wish I could have avoided so much wasted time and frustration by having access to the kind of support I needed at the time I needed it. without all the detours.
