Recently I have implemented some Ecommerce solutions for our business using PayPal WebSitePayments Standard and IPN. Both have yielded wonderful results so far.
Right now those solutions reside on a secure server by a hosting company. One of the latest technologies has been 'the cloud'. We would like to move some of our servers off into a more cloud managed solution (Virtual Environment) rather than the usual single machine single operating system staple.
Right now our solution is simply a web site using Web Site Payments Standard (using a form post) to pay pal, then the merchant account has an address setup for IPN, and the web site allows the ability to receive those IPN's.
So my question is, are there any potential security risks involved in doing this? I am going to attempt to answer my own question and say no, since it is merely http requests that we are making.
