I am having trouble trying to get the following form to work with the correct price:
<form id="paypal-purchase" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick" /> <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="9FNQY882BAE3U" /> <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="<perch:content id="event-title" /> tickets" /> <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="<perch:content id="event-price" label="Event Price" required="true" />" /> <input class="cta-button-02" type="submit" name="submit" value="Click Here to Purchase Tickets" /> <p><img src="image/icon-paypal.gif" alt="Checkout securely with PayPal" /><strong><u>Checkout securely with <span class="highlight-paypal">PayPal</span></u></strong><br /> <em>You can pay by card, and don’t even need a <span class="highlight-paypal">PayPal</span> account!</em></p> </form>
But the price is stuck at '0.01'. Now that I think about it, the button looks to be 'hosted' with PayPal. Does it need to be hosted or can I just generate buttons on the fly in just HTML?

Fixed it, just clicked 'Remove code protection' and then I could see all of the variables in the HTML 🙂

Quick update, just tried creating a new button that isn't hosted by PayPal:
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"> <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="19.95"> <input type="hidden" name="encrypted" value="-----BEGIN PKCS7-----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-----END PKCS7----- "> <input type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/WEBSCR-640-20110306-1/en_US/GB/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online."> <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/WEBSCR-640-20110306-1/en_GB/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </form>
I have tried to set the amount of the item with this line:
<input type="hidden" name="amount" value="19.95">
But PayPal is just ignoring it and letting my customers just enter their own price! What could be causing the problem? I can't see anything that is missing from the code for PayPal to not understand what price I am setting
