Paypal Button -- won't accept user's login credentials in order to accept payment

I have generated PayPal buttons ("Smart" buttons, found here: <Removed> and placed them on my website:

<Removed>

However, I've tried testing a payment with several different PayPal accounts, all of which get the error message "Some of your info isn't correct. Please try again." ... I am positive I am using the correct usernames/passwords, yet all fail to log in, in order to process a payment.

Not sure what the issue is??

How did you resolve this? I'm have the same problem, But I just checked your site and it seems to be working now.

What needs to be done to flip the switch from sandbox to actual use on a live site?

I noticed on mine when the Paypal login window comes up, the URL is 'sandbox.paypal.com', yours is just 'paypal.com'

So the smart button instructions to just "copy the code" is obviously not correct since the code seems to be running in some sandbox test mode by default. (I don't even know what sandbox is - or how it should be used. I've only used the old button maker before which was just a set and copy experience.)

Any help appreciated

I see the same error message when attempting to Pay via Paypal. Login yields

dmafackler_0-1618168437932.png

Yet I just used the same credential to connect to the Paypal site via a desktop system.

  • Allowing 3rd party cookies made no difference.
  • Noting that the Paypal button is embedded in a (new not classic) Google Site. The paypal method worked fine under the classic site.
The login failure only occurs with the Paypal option (not Pay Later, not Pay with Debit or Credit Card).
  • Does Paypal button login support authentication where 2FA is enabled?

I am having the same issue using New google sites. I'm assuming this is to do with Google sites. Any work around would be much appreciated 😄

I am having the same problem with the Smart Button code, generated by and copied from the PayPal website. We are trying to add the code to a website built using an Enfold Wordpress theme.  The PayPal password (saved in browser so definitely correct) is not being accepted, and credit/debit card payments seem to work but no payment actually gets through, and hovering the mouse cursor over the 'reset password' link reveals that the user is being directed to sandbox.paypal.com instead www.paypal.com.

Hey, go to https://developer.paypal.com/developer/accounts/ and then look at your email and password for the correct info because your normal account wont work on sandbox

I *am* using my normal account. I don't have - never have had - a developer account 😞

I am embarrassed to say that I had to do was edit the URL in the code generated by PayPal by changing "client-id=SB" in the Paypal code to "client-ID={our client id}" ... specifically this: src="https://www.paypal.com/sdk/js?client-id=sb&currency= "
