My paypal account is locked - under "selling prescribed item",but this item is not prescribed

Hello Everyone

I'm with paypal around 10 years and around 3 as a business seller. Today my paypal account has been locked. Email with explanation says that I violated paypal policies by selling 2 items that require prescription. It also states that I can't appeal from this decision, and I can't get my money from paypal for next 180 days... Smiley Sad

Now the fun part - the item in question is called Nizoral Shampoo and it's widely available pretty much everywhere. It's just a dandruff shampoo you can buy in every supermarket. No prescription required. I was selling it on ebay for ages, and it was in accordance with ebay policies.

So I have had ebay account with 100% positive reviews, I got no history of violating any ebay or paypal rules, and now all of a sudden paypal steps in locked my all money, locked my account under assumption that I'm selling illegal product... No warnings, na chance of explaining myself, no appealing, nothing... ALL YOUR MONEY ARE BELONG TO US...that's it. Even if the item in question is not really violate any rules. Tried to call, they say nothing they can do and I can contact them by email, which I did...so far no response. This is most unfair system I ever heard of. How can they can treat people like that?

Is there anything I can do to unlock my account and appeal this unfair decision?

 Many Thanks

Only customer services can make that decision, no one here can do anything for you, sorry.

I'm not expecting anyone to do anything for me in this matter itself. I was hoping that someone had similar situation and know what to do/knows contact numbers/knows email adresses or anything that might help to resolve this situation. It also beneficial for other to know what kind of unfair practices paypal uses

What is the point of us giving you contact numbers etc if paypal have already told you this  >>>

. It also states that I can't appeal from this decision,

I could give you a tel number / email / etc etc but it would make no difference if that is what they have said.

As for ''letting folks know'' we can only ever see one side of a story on this forum, paypal don't give permanent limitations for no reason.

Why would they? If they stop you selling they lose the fees that you supply them with, so its not in their interests to do so unless it was a breach of policy.

I aprreciate this, however as I mention above "you can't appeal" was in the only email from them. In the other words - they said I breached their policy so IT MUST BE TRUE. It's not like automated system could picked up something by mistake, right?

We have recently reviewed your PayPal account activity, and determined that
you are in violation of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy regarding your sales
/ offers of prescription strength Nizoral shampoo on http://www.ebay.com/,

"we can only ever see one side of a story on this forum, paypal don't give permanent limitations for no reason."

I could say: paypal users don't write messages on community forum for no reason. Paypal holds lots of my monies for reason that is simply not true. Their policy won’t even allow you to appeal, or dispute - this is totalitarian methods. I'm business seller for around 3 years - never had any problems with paypal/ebay because I know what sort of items I'm allowed to sell. Where the **bleep** would I get PERSCRIBED items, and why would I try to sell them on ebay? Why would I try to sell something illegal on my official account that is verified, and merged to my business address and my bank account? Why this item had been sold so many times and now today it gets picked up totally randomly. My account wasn't reviewed during last three years at all? Why ebay don’t have any problem with this item?

I'm not sure why would you want to defend the system that is somewhat broken and unfair. I don't have any problem with their policies - I wouldn't be happy to see that someone selling a gun or drugs on ebay through paypal. But if their system would pick up, let's say playstation game controller as illegal firearm, this person should have a place where he can appeal. So yes, I stand my ground that folks should know how unfair this system is

I am not defending them, I am stating the FACTS.

The FACT that they say you can not appeal it means exactly that.

Whether I agree with the fact you can't appeal it or not or whether I agree to your limitation or not is meaningless.

No, my friend, this is just your assumptions, not facts. You assumed that I must have done something wrong, because paypal couldn't make any mistake.

Facts are - my money got hold by paypal

-they only send me one email regarding this

-they not intend to dispute anything with anyone once they decide to keep your money

-they not provide any support regarding their actions

-i will not get any support on this community forum

So that's the facts

Now something completly different -my account was locked yesteday afternoon. So far this forum is the only place I wrote about my situation. Evening I have received this kind of scam email:

Your Account Is Limited
We’re constantly working to ensure security by reguIarIy screening the accounts in our system. We recentIy reviewed your account, and we need more information to heIp us provide you with secure service. UntiI we can collect this information, your access to sensitive account features wiII be Iimited. We wouId Iike to restore your access as soon as possibIe, and we apoIogize for the inconvenience.

What do I have to do?

It's usuaIIy pretty easy to take care of things Iike this. Most of the time, we just need a IittIe more information about your account or Iatest transactions. To heIp us with this and to find out what you can and can't do with your account untiI the issue is resoIved, go to the ResoIution Center. at first glace it's looks geniune. A the bottom there is a button wchih asks you to login to paypal. Obviously I'm not taking any risk to check what next. The sender address is

"StatusOfAccount ( at )  noprofitre.co.uk"

Does this forum provides my email to any third party? Or any other user of this forum can see my details?  Because it is such a coincidence that few hours after I post thread about problems with my account I received scam related to my situation.

Nowhere have I stated that, would you like to show me where i did?

I stated firstly  >>

1. Only customer services can make that decision and no one here  ....FACT

2. I said its pointless giving you contact info as paypal have already told you that you can't appeal the limitation.........FACT

3. I stated that as far as letting folks know that we only see one side of the story on here....................FACT

4. I stated its not in their interests to limit an account for no reason as they lose fees by doing so......................FACT

But I won't respond anymore as you obviously don't like to hear those FACTS.

Bye
