Well, I started using paypal a few days ago. I linked my check card and made a few purchases. The first transaction came out of my checking account. However, the second was withdrawn from my savings account which did not have enough funds. My checking account had more than enough funds. Im curious as to why the heck payap would pull out of an empty account. Now, im stuck with an overdraft fee that I can't even pay until next week.

You would need to ask Customer Service.

PayPal Customer Service:
US/Canada
1 - 888 - 221 - 1161
or
1 - 402 - 935 - 2050

4:00 AM PST to 10:00 PM PST Monday through Friday
6:00 AM PST to 8:00 PM PST Saturday and Sunday

Note, If you're trapped in the the phone maze, press Zero.

Things are supposed to work this way:

If your PayPal balance isn’t enough to cover a payment, you can choose how you want to pay. You can pay directly from your bank account or with your debit or credit card.

Payment methods
When you pay for something, the first thing PayPal does is check your PayPal balance to see if you have enough to cover the payment. If you do, PayPal will use your balance to make the payment. If you don’t have money in your balance, you can choose to pay directly from your bank account or your debit or credit card.

To make sure you’re using the payment method you want, click More Funding Options or Change before you send your payment.

Regards,
