PayPal Store widget - Slow

When creating the store widget, the more items I add, the slower the web page gets. Until it is impossibly slow to craete.  6 items is the most i've been able to add before it slows down to a crawl.

How can i keep this from happening?

The PayPal Storefront Widgets are "beta" projects by PayPal Labs and not supported through the normal channels.  You would need to contact the folks at PayPal Labs.
