Ebay Session Timed Out

Lately when I try to pay for an ebay item using PayPal, I sign in with PayPal, get to the first page, click on change funding source, and it takes me back to the PayPal sign in page saying that my session has timed out.   VERY FRUSTRATING.

Hi GPH,

To troubleshoot the problem, have you tried a few of the basics? Clear your cache and cookies and verify that the date and time on your computer are correct?

The same thing keeps happening to me.  I can check out only if I use instant payment from my bank account.  If I check "change funding source" the screen says that the session has timed out and I can't go any further (unless I want to use the instant bank funding option.)  I HAVE cleared the cache and the cookies and the date and time are correct.

Try the following alternate ways to send a PayPal payment...

1) Login to PayPal, click on the "Send Money" tab, click on the "Pay for eBay Items" tab and follow instructions from there, OR...

2) Login to PayPal, click on the "Send Money" tab, complete the payment fields, select "eBay Items" as the payment type and follow instructions from there, OR...

3) Login to PayPal, click on the "Send Money" tab, complete the payment fields, select "Goods" as the payment type, enter the eBay item number and title in the "Notes" section and follow instructions from there.

The 3rd alternative may result in the loss of PayPal Buyer Protection, and so... don't use that method unless your payment is credit card funded.

Just a question....because we are having the same problem and it's VERY annoying!!  Are you on a Mac or a PC?  What browser are you using?  I just talked to PayPal on the phone and they suggested that some Mac users are having problems, especially when using Safari as their browser.  I have just switched to Firefox and will see if that makes a difference.

Please post what you are using and maybe we can figure this out.

It would also be nice if a moderator that really knows about this problem would come up with a solution!!!!

Another thing to try would be to completely quit your browser and try again.  (Yes, we have cleared cache and cookies too!)
