Can we set up a second account?

We'd like to set up a second account. We've been using one for memberships and donations. We have a conference coming up and would like to keep those funds separate, so we'd like to set up a second PP account for that. We're a non-profit. How do we do that? Or are there other options?

Yes, you can do this however, you will need two separate bank accounts, two separate credit cards and two separate email addresses.   That's the requirement.

Your other option and less of a hassle would be keep your single account but, add a second email address to that account.  You can have up to 8 verified email addresses associated with your your PayPal Account.  You would use one address for Donations and the other address for your memberships.  Note all the funds would come to your single PayPal Account but, you will be able to sort your transactions by email address.

There is one catch, the item button code you use cannot be hosted or encrypted.  Reason is, if you are relying on using the online button creator to generate your item button code, by default, the online button creator uses your "Primary" PayPal Account email address.  Therefore, your item button code must be clear text meaning not hosted or encrypted.   Then you can change the "business" variable value to any email address you need to use.
