Need some help about trying to reverse chargebacks initiated by my bank. My Paypal was hacked last February, and there were unauthorised transactions made. I got them all cancelled by contacting the sellers. I reported it to my bank / card company and they issued me a replacement card. All was good until 2 weeks later, the bank initiated chargebacks on 2 legit Paypal transactions last year that were not even part of the report.
They credited the money to me and took back the funds from two Paypal sellers and charged them fees. I contacted Paypal several times by phone and email explaining what happened and that I want them cancelled. They said they couldn't do it and the bank has to cancel since they were the ones who intiated them. I complained about this to my bank and after going back and forth to Paypal and my bank for almost four months, the bank finally reversed it. Both were debited back to my card.
However, Paypal said that they don't have the funds and no cancellations from the bank. They have closed the cases, despite several calls requesting to cancel them. My last call with Paypal, the agent told me there was nothing they could do, that I can pay back the merchants including fees and wait till July until if the reversed chargeback amounts are received by Paypal and then file reimbursement or claim. Is this the correct process? Why didn't Paypal listen to my requests to have them reversed? Please help.
