Paypal are making my life a misery - I have traded with Ebay & Paypal for years using a Capital One Credit Card - having moved to France I have changed my Capital 1 account address and now Paypal have gone into meltdown. They will not accept a FRENCH ADDRESS on my English credit card - after several contacts I was told to open a second account with Paypal France - relatively easy even with my limited French language skills but Paypal France will not accept my ENGLISH credit card. Paypal claim to have an English helpline at Paypal France but it either needs a degree in French to find it or it doesn't exist.

I find that the Ebay/Paypal partnership is a means of blackmailing supplyers into accepting only their own payment system and is anti competition which should be illegal in the principals of EU fair trading

Paypal is country specific so if you move country you have to open another paypal account in that country and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.

The only exception is U.S users can add their bank accounts to other countries paypal accounts.

Sorry but you haven't read my post and have given only a typical pro Paypal response! - Paypal won't accept my FRENCH ADDRESS on an ENGLISH CREDIT CARD and won't accept an ENGLISH CREDIT CARD on a PAYPAL FRENCH ACCOUNT! - Explain to me how this helps either the seller or the buyer??? I believe that sellers are being blackmailed by Ebay/Paypal into accepting agreements that restrict them into accepting only Ebay/Paypal payment methods which is anti competition to the disadvantage of both sellers and buyer benefitting only Ebay/Paypal

I have given you the FACTS that is all I can do. The facts are not pro or anti paypal they are just HOW PAYPAL WORKS.

I can only give you the facts not the intelligence to understand them.

Typical response - if you cannot defend a bad system, you resort to insults - the fact still remains that the system is bad for sellers and bad for customers - you have already stated that Paypal USA can add/change addresses the fact that they cannot allow the same in Europe shows an abuse of their trading position. Find an abusive response to that!

Where did i say that? I did not say they can change addresses, i said they can link their bank accounts to OTHER COUNTRIES paypal accounts, they still have to have a paypal account belonging to that country if they are IN that country.

If i was rude its because you made a rude reply to a perfectly polite post informing you of the FACTS of why you could not do what you wanted to do. You did not even seem to understand what i posted anyway whereas I have posted that for lots of folks who normally respond with a "thank you that explains it".

I don't make the rules and don't always agree with the rules all i can do is let you know how they work.

Most folks appreciate a reply and then there are folks like yourself.

Don't bother re-posting as I won't be back to read it, off to help nice posters that appreciate replies to their threads.
