Deposit money in PayPal account

Can anyone transfer money to my account? What do they need to do that? And how can they do it? Can I go to my bank and deposit cash to my PayPal account as I do not want to link my bank account to it ? Does anyone know if in uk they have places to get that green dot PayPal card that you can add money to your account or is this an American thing?

All someone needs to transfer money to you is the email address you use for paypal that identifies that account.

The money then goes into your paypal balance.

Then you can withdraw it when you want to by clicking on the withdraw funds tab in your paypal account and transfering it to any bank account you have linked and verified to your paypal account.........(you can't transfer to a debit or credit card in the U.K).

If you want to BUY things via  paypal then you never need to transfer funds to your paypal account balance as paypal will take direct from any funding source you have linked (bank account OR a debit or credit card).

However as paypal CREDIT the seller in advance so you get your item more quickly they will only take that risk if you have a  back up card registered to your paypal account as well (if you only have a bank account linked).

If you don't want to add your bank account you won't be able to withdraw any funds in your paypal balance but you will be able to buy things if you ONLY have a debit or credit card linked.

Thanks for that info. There is no way I can deposit cash through a bank or local PayPal facilities and get into my PayPal account? Or is there anyway of depositing cash without having to go through a credit card or bank account?

Even if you transfered funds into your paypal balance you would not be able to use it without having a back up card linked to your paypal account as well.
