hold time for incompetent customer service

I've been waiting an hour on hold now, how much longer is a reasonable amount of time to wait on hold? Just waiting for more lies and run around anyway from the incompetent powerless customer service representatives. Seems they have based their customer support business model on frustrating customers until they go away...
