Need clarification on Known-Loss Doctrine and paypal policy.

I have sold some items in an MMORPG to a player totaling $350.
The player's items were stolen by his ingame wife (yes, it's one of those games) and now he is asking for a refund or he wants the same items AGAIN.
I told him I was not responsible for lost or stolen items. He said there is liquidation law and Known-Loss Doctrine which says that I am supposed to refund him the items if they were to be stolen. I looked up the definition and it went over my head. Something about insurance, I never provided any sort of insurance and I had no idea they were going to be stolen.

I think he might file a dispute with paypal and I read stories where paypal actually takes the disputed amount without permission from my bank account.
I have quickly taken off my cards and bank account from my paypal account.

Does he have a case here or not? From what he is saying, I can pretty much buy anything from a store and claim it was stolen after I received it and get a refund or replacement?.. Sounds like a load of rubbish.

He says he started a dispute with paypal but I haven't received any notices yet.

I think he might be trying to fraud me. I am not sure whether to post this in Disputes and claims or Fraud, phishing, etc.
