Merchant Fees - I am not!

I am being charged merchant fees and I am not a merchant. How do I stop this?

Do you mean premier/business paypal account.

If you sell and use paypal you need a paypal business or premier account, and will be charges fees

Yeah but some people get money sent to them by freinds or reletives and are still charged this fee. It's happened to me.

For US PayPal members, it is free to send a Personal Payment to someone in the United States in US Dollars if you use your bank or PayPal balance as the exclusive funding source.  All other Personal Payments will be subject to the fees as described in the PayPal User Agreement...
