refunds and returns

i recently made a purchased trainers on ebay, when they arrived they was a size too big and labels not attached, this made me question the authenticity. anyway, i contacted the seller to return them for a refund to no avail. i then opened a claim in paypal and was offered a partial refund, i accepted thinking i could sell on or give away the trainers. the seller has now contacted me several time in only a few hours to return them. although i have no issue in returning them, i would expect the full amount i paid. am i obliged to return them? this would put me at a loss plus paying for postage thanks
