So my bank account got hacked on monday 11/16/2020 and I didn't realize until Wednesday. Upon realization, I removed all related accounts to it and shut down the account. Pay pal then (afterwords) informed me i was sending $800 to someone I didn't know and I disputed the claim because I didn't. They ignored my claim and said it was consistent with my history even though I had no history of such a transfer and especially not with the person. I appealed asking for them to send me what evidence they had proving I approved such a transaction and they refused stating that the claim was approved. now I show a very negative balance for a transaction when i didn't have my bank account connected and did NOT make a money transfer. I will email again hoping i get someone with some sense and have already started a report with the cfpb.
