Keep getting charged

So around the beginning of December my stepmother and I were sending payments back and fourth to each other via PayPal. My stepmother received the payments that I sont to her and vise versa and everything was fine. Fast forward a few days and my bank account is negative because of PayPal saying that my bank declined my electric funds and that they will automatically re attempt the payment in 3 business day but my stepmother already received the money!! PayPal has charged me 3 times for money that my stepmother already received. I just got account out of the negative balance now I got another emails from PayPal trying to charge me again! How do I stop this from happening? I even have proof that she received the payments..

She may have received the payments as paypal credit the recipient up front and then paypal wait for the bank funds to arrive to pay them back.

If when they apply to the bank for those funds there is not enough there they will put you in neg and keep trying.
