Here's the situation: Ordered a gift card online from a restaurant via Paypal using my work email (didn't have an active PayPal account). Of course it charged me, they sent nothing, and now when I email the vendor email it kicks back and even when I visit the location, they say they're not responsible and there's nothing they can do.
I merged the email with my personal account (which I use all the time) but now I can't file a dispute because the transaction isn't showing up in my activity? How in the world do I even get started to get this money back? Tempted to never use paypal again because I could've disputed this with my credit card in seconds...

If you bought something online with a debit or credit card and did NOT log into your paypal account then of course it won't show on your paypal account as you bought as a 'guest buyer'.
However your seller may have processed that payment using their Paypal 'card reader' and so Paypal would show on your bank or card statement.
If you need to open a dispute for a 'guest buyer' transaction then you can.......
1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will open one for you OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
