Fraudulent Scam dealers using PayPal

Has anyone had experience with fraudulent advertising on FB and the dealers use PayPal as their method of payment.

I recently bought two items advertised on FB and paid for them with PayPal.

Both items were frauds and I received toys instead of the real item I ordered.

PayPal hasn't been very helpful so far.

Do they accept anyone on PayPal ?

Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

1. No return address on the returns policy............thats because the site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) BUT they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost nearly always more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number............if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. No company address information.
4. Great looking items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.

Paypal don't choose your sellers, you do, paypal just gives you 'some' buyer protection but the onus is on you to risk assess your transactions.

It would be impossible to vet every individual seller / merchant or website that adds Paypal as a payment processor WORLDWIDE.

Have you opened a dispute?

Did you open it for received but not as described?

Did you escalate to a claim?

Have you activated the 'return shipping' link?

Did you fund your paypal payment via a credit card?
