I am having an issue with paypal on a charge back we sold an item on EBay and they paid through paypal I got confirmation from paypal that the money was sent and available to go ahead and ship item. Well I shipped item and two days later the guy does a chargeback and since paypal would not listen the last two years and update my email. They sent an email to the old address even though I have three emails on there and went ahead and gave the guy a refund he says he never authorized the purchase at his bank and now I am out my item and $465 how is that fair and when I call paypal they tell me well your out of luck you have to pay the negative balance off or we will put this in your credit how is it fair the a seller trying to run a business if paypal doesn’t have your back against fraud. We have proof of delivery and tracking. Any advice

The buyer pays to the email address that is on your listing and that is where notifications normally go.

A chargeback is not a paypal dispute, it is done directly via a buyers credit card issuer, the card issuer makes all decisions and all paypal can do is pass along and info on your behalf.

If you lose then you should be covered by seller protection, if you were not reimbursed then you must have not got that coverage for some reason so your best bet is to read up on it to see why you missed out.

Funny this is I called paypal and they said we have sellers protection and that we would receive a refund for the money within 72 hours and that was three weeks ago and now they tell me one thing and transfer me and they tell me another and transfer me and still I have no answers I am currently on hold again 45 min on hold.
