I’ve recently found a jacket for sale from an online store in the USA, im in scotland and with shipping and fees included the jacket is still £100 less than what i would be paying if i were to buy it from anywhere in the UK, but I've read a few reviews on the stores facebook page and The last 2 reviews both state online orders they placed did not arrive, I may be a bit naive even considering continuing with the purchase but if i do, and in the slight chance the item doesn't arrive, what protection would i have from paypal as a buyer? Granted i would be making payment through paypal. Thanks for any help
Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.
1. No return address on the returns policy............thats because the site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) BUT they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost nearly always more than the item is worth. 2. No contact telephone number............if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address. 3. No company address information. 4. Great looking items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.

Hi Kernowlass, I actually done a bit of investigating, i found the stores facebook page and found they have a number of stores in the states (4 if my memory serves me correctly) which is a bit reassuring. They all have different contact numbers for each store, and a return address. Whats your opinion on that? Would you think i should be relatively safe?
yes they have dispatch depots in your country but if it arrives and its tat (likely) then you have a hefty bill to pay for its return back to China (returns depot) before you get a refund IF the item arrives safely in China.
Personally i would not buy anything from a Social Media ad, all China tat, but your call.

Sorry but it seems that you didn't read my post, nowhere did i mention an online ad, nor did i mention the jacket would be sent from china, the returns address also is not in china. I done a google search for the item and found it being sold by a company that has four or five stores in pennsylvania and surrounding areas, and the jacket is being shipped from one of the stores, an actual physical store that if i were to travel to i could walk in to and buy the item in person. Nothing is being shipped from a depot in the UK either, again i go back to what i just stated as i mentioned its being sent from one of the stores in the USA.
