Issues with Dates on Estimates

I have setup a template with a date column on. However, every time I have a date on my estimate my clients do not see it. I would have to re-enter it when converting that estimate to an invoice. I also tried editing the estimate and save again, still not visible even at preview. However, when I go back to the templates then enter a date I can see it on a preview.
Please advise.
