Trying out PayPal Checkout JS integration, the standard one that's hosted by Paypal.
When users have issues with cards it should trigger the (err) function which it does sometimes, then other times it will launch a pop up window with PayPal guest checkout in it for them to re-enter their card details.
Sometimes it will do this automatically and sometimes it will show a message "Something went wrong. We'll take you back to checkout so you can try again." and then shows a button you click which launches the PayPal Guest checkout in a pop up window.
I don't really get this as the users are entering their card details on your website which is how the JS Checkout system works so for card errors it should only be triggering the (err) function.
This issue is, it looks fraudulent to users and is confusing, first they entered their card on your website and next thing they have a pop up looking like paypal asking for the card details again,
If they dont think it looks suspect, they think "i don't want to use paypal im using a card"
My question is why on earth does it work like this and how do we stop this weird behaviour. The old PayPal Pro HOSTED never did this it kept the users on your page entering card details.
Related, my other beef is that all payers get a confirmation email from paypal which is also confusing if they have paid with a card, Many contact us and say I paid with a card why do I have a paypal receipt??
Come on PayPal, what are you doing !
