Withdrew from a bank account that doesn't exist

Hi,

I just paid for something thru paypal, and didn't realize that the checking account paypal is connected to is actually an old one that doesn't exist any more.  Paypal shows that the transaction went through, and I got confirmation from the seller, so I'm not sure where the money came from.

I confirmed with my old bank that the account doesn't exist any more.  I just placed this order; could it just take some time for paypal to kick it back to me?  Will I be dinged with fees if it is kicked back?  Is there any way to cancel this transaction and pay for it with a new bank account?

Thanks,

Evan

Not sure if this will help but I just went thru that myself.  I hadn't used paypal in a while and like you made a payment.   It told me the same thing as you but I have a current debit card set up with paypal so after about a week it transfered the money from my debit card.  I so far have not incurred any fee's and have been able to remove the old acct.   If you don't have a credit or debit card set up I am not sure what  you will incur.
