Payment for item I sold does not show up in my Paypal account

Just received an email from Paypal to tell me that I had received payment for an item I sold on eBay. The link provided by Paypal takes me to my Paypal account, but there is no record of the transaction in my account. I thought that Paypal money transfers were instant. I don't want to let my purchaser down but I can't post the item until I have proof to my satisfaction that the money is in my Paypal account.

Am I being too impatient - does it actually take some time for  a new transaction to register in the receiver's account?

Go and find the transaction in your “my ebay” > click to the right where it says sell similar > don't fill in anything just scroll down to the payments section > look in the paypal box > is the email addy in there correct with no spelling mistakes? If so then it would have been wrong on your finished auctions so come back for more advice.

I have 2 email addresses. The one I use to login to Paypal is not the one in which  I received notification from Paypal of the payment. I don't know why both my email accounts are used by Paypal, but they are both genuine. If this is the reason I don't appear to have receive payment, how can I resolve the problem

I have had Paypal transactions recently which proceeded without any problems, and I certainly haven't changed the details Paypal hold about me since the last successful transaction

Still waiting for you to do as advised on my post above. If the email addy on your auction is not one that is on paypal then that is why you have not got funds. Cant help till you have confirmed that.
