Withdrawal to bank account rejected by bank

Hi
I tried to withdraw some funds from my account it was put on pending for 72 hours and today after 72hours I received an email from paypal saying the following:
Dear ****** ******
You recently made the following request to withdraw funds from your PayPal account to your bank account:
Amount requested to be withdrawn from PayPal: £650.00 GBP
Bank account: HALIFAX x‐****
Transaction ID: **************
However, this withdrawal request was declined by your bank for one of the following reasons:
- The bank account number does not exist or is invalid
- The bank branch listed in your PayPal account does not exist
- The bank does not accept electronic withdrawals
- Another reason not specified by your bank
The relevant funds have been returned to your PayPal account. For further details on the return, you’ll need to contact your bank.
Please note, for security reasons, your bank account has been disabled from use on PayPal. Please contact PayPal Customer Service if you wish to have your bank account reinstated.

This is all despite the fact that the bank account is verified so how was I able to verify the bank account and now get a message saying the bank has rejected my withhdrawal?
Also does this also mean I would have to wait another 72 hours after withdrawing y funds again?

Double check that you have not accidently cancelled the direct debit mandate on your online banking > direct debits section.
Advice is voluntary.

No the direct debit wasn't cancelled as the bank account is still showing up when I go to withdraw so the bank account was obviously not removed.
I can make purchases with the account as it allowed me to top up my skype account.
However when I go to withdraw again it's telling me I have to wait another 72 hours which is unfair as I have already waited 72 hours.

Welcome to the Community Forum! Sorry to hear about your withdrawal issues.
When a withdrawal is reversed, it's normally because it's been rejected by the bank it's being sent to. To check this out and get an exact reason for the reversal, you may need to contact Customer Support directly, as we can't view your account details from here.
If you're being asked to wait another 72 hours for your withdrawal, this hold is automatically implemented by our internal security system and cannot be bypassed, but it should not happen every time you withdraw. It may be occurring this time because of the previously reversed withdrawal. I hope this information helps!
