Withdrawal reversed

I recently iniated a transfer from my paypal account to my bank account as I have done many times before, however today I got an email saying my withdrawal had been reversed and the funds returned to my paypal account, (save for 50p which has vanished without explanation on my transaction pages).
My bank say they don't know anything about it and I'm inclined to believe them given that I have transferred money to them countless times before, and banks aren't generally in the habit of refusing deposits.

Go to your online bank website and check you have not accidently deleted the direct debit.
Then go to your paypal account via the profile > my money tab and see if your bank account is still linked with paypal.
Also when a transaction fails to a bank account paypal charge you a 50p processing fee for the failure.
If all you details are correct I would contact paypal via the contact us link bottom of paypal pages and see if they can tell you why it has failed.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Direct debit is still there and my bank account is still linked as it has been for the last few years.
I wish I could say that I was shocked that paypal have stolen money from me for their mistake but given the fact they can't even perform a simple bank transfer correctly I'm not. No doubt this is yet another ploy to gain interest from my paypal balance.
I have already emailed them but knowing how long it takes paypal to transfer money I don't expect a reply any time soon. I even had to email them twice because I recieved an automated response with some faq rubbish, another attempt at delaying my withdrawal I suspect.

sorry kernowlass but the "like" was not for your reply. It was an accident.
of course it's about money and normally we study well and double check the details before we engage to transfers and withdrawals. Yes, Paypal made it clear there are return fees, expensive actually, but I agree what he said that why Paypal charge us to their mistake? And when we make a withdrawal where does actually our money goes within that 2-4 days? It's not in our PP account, but it also doesn't exist in our bank account. Looks like we have no control of our "hard earned" money at all don't you think?
