What is going on with this, why are every other one of withdrawals being held? I sell stuff on eBay for a very good reason, because I need the money to live and continually buy more stock, but then you guys just randomly hold my money, its driving me mad. My eBay and Paypal account are in good standing, all verified. I phoned Paypal the first time this happened to me and the chap said please don't worry this is just a security measure. It shouldn't happen to you again for a good while. Well guess what, the last 10 withdrawals, 3-4 of them have been pending.

It seems to work this way >>

When a buyer pays you it is often not instant if they fund it from their bank account via paypal. Paypal CREDIT you the funds so the buyer gets their item quickly and then paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to paypal........normally 5 days ish.

So if you withdraw those funds straight away then its paypals funds you are withdrawing and so they put on a "random security hold" until the buyers payment has time to play catch up.

I find if i only withdraw funds every 2-4 weeks then i don't get the delay.

I have just come off the phone from Paypal about the same issue & they have confirmed after a system upgrade last night there is a technical issue with all UK withdrawals taking upto 24 hours, they are hoping to have this resolved shortly!

I too have just come off the phone from PayPal. Reason I got for my withdrawals to my bank a/c being kept as Pending was as a security measure and they may not be released for up to 72 hours. This is ridiculous as the money I am withdrawing is to cover postage on sold eBay items which I need to post out. I therefore cannot access any money at all in my account until this security review is completed, but at the same time people who over the weekend buy stuff from me on eBay can continue to pay for their purchases via PayPal but I may not be able to access their funds. I asked if there was an over-ride to speed this up but was told there was not. I am sure other UK banking institutions have speedier methods and don't effectively block you from your funds after you have contacted them to advise there is no issue with the transactions on your account. I WONDER IF THIS IS FCA COMPLIANT??
