I thought European courts decided that payments made over the internet had to be paid into customers accounts immediately... Paypal seem to be flagrantly flouting these rules and BREAKING international law.
I made 1 withdrawal last week of around 200gbp, easy peasy. It went into my account immediately. Made a similar request yesterday... but this time my request is 'pending'. It has been explained to me in a very vague message, that my payment is being held for an extra 24 hours pending review + an extra possible 2 hours for processing. What they are reviewing, who knows?! Nothing is ever mentioned of exactly when, what or how they are reviewing, just that they are reviewing the payment. WTF PAYPAL.
I am down to my last 40 quid, and I need this payment in my account TODAY as I have payments coming out of my account this week to pay my household bills. If it is not in my account by the end of the week then my current account will incur unauthorised overdraft charges. Will Paypal be happy to foot these charges if they do not timely deposit MY MONEY that they are ILLEGALLY holding onto? Will they Heck...
The withdrawal request was made at 10.15BST yesterday, so they have until 12.15BST today to deposit my money into my account otherwise they are breaking their word and most probably the law too.
I can't believe such a large corporation are getting away with such a blatant scam like this.
