Gaming Community, Donations and Verification

I'm the treasurer for a mid-sized gaming community that runs off of donations (for our website, teamspeak, etc). We've set up a paypal account for donations and it has been nothing but a hassle from the beginning.

We've had to call Paypal several times for different issues and I have yet to receive a  straight answer on the subject of verification. We can't add a bank account because we all have personal paypals linked to our accounts, not to mention the donation account may trade hands in the future. So I was told (by more than one person) that I could e-mail the compliance team with my contact info and they could have me verified.

No such luck. They confused my e-mail with one asking about the limitations on my account (because they didn't think of us as non-profit at first). On the bright side, at least the account is in good standing now.

I called again and when I asked about verification for  a non-profit organization, I was told that I misunderstood and that I would have to add a bank account no matter what. Which just isn't possible for me.

So, I'm at a loss for what to do.

I have donations sitting unclaimed in my account, what am I supposed to do?
