I suspect a sellor is doing private bidding on most of their goods . What can I do to find out . Also why am I now having to go via Pay Pal

If you think someone is shill bidding then report them to paypal, also sniping reduces the risk of being shill bid.

report to Ebay if it is Ebay auction,Paypal does not care about shill bidding,it is not an auction venue.

Ebay would allow 2 forms of payments to be used by seller-paypal or his own merchanta ccount to accept credit cards,no csh or money order to better protect the buyer.
